Parade organizers have announced the annual Oklahoma City Halloween Parade will take place at 7 p.m. October 22 on Automobile Alley. The family friendly event will include children’s activities prior to the parade and a block party with live entertainment following the parade.
“We take into account major events including local college football home games when choosing a date for the parade. The earlier date this year gives Halloween enthusiasts additional time to enjoy the spirit and costumes of the season,” said parade organizer Mike McAuliffe.
The parade will step off North Broadway Avenue beginning at NW 13 Street, ending on NW 4 Street. Some of the parade entries will return to Auto Alley for the block party.
Entry fees for the parade are $100. The parade organizers contribute 100 percent of all entry fees to Allied Arts to support local arts organizations. Prizes will be awarded by the Judges to the best entries. An original piece of art created by a local artist will be handed out to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.
Candy will be handed out by parade participants as they make their way down Automobile Alley. The event is more family friendly than in years past which includes allowing children to be in the parade.
Major sponsors for the parade have included Air Comfort Solutions, St. Anthony, Party Galaxy, BancFirst, Phoenix Restoration and the Automobile Alley Association.
